Electromagnetic Field - Material Interaction Lab

Electromagnetic Field - Matter Interaction Laboratory is a research laboratory within the UPB CAMPUS research centre. Theoretical and experimental researches on the mechanisms and on the effects of the interaction between matter and electromagnetic field are carried out. The qualitative and quantitative study of the electromagnetic field effects produced by different electric devices on matter is studied. This research faced a significant development in interest over the last few years both from the electromagnetic (bio)compatibility perspective and from that of evaluating the various effects which an be used in a useful way (e.g. for conversion in other energy forms). Taking into account that the majority of the processes are not linear, for a rigorous analysis of these interaction phenomena, there are necessary high accuracy measuring procedures. These procedures allow, on one hand, the elimination of the environmental fields and the production of field with imposed specifications, and on the other the development of precise computation methods and models, in order to anticipate such effects. To fulfil these objectives, the laboratory encompasses the expertise and the research of several research teams from Electrical Engineering Faculty, as well as those of other research and industry specialists, forming a core of advanced research for the next decade.
