In Romania, the valorization degree of deep geothermal energy sources is limited. The main cause is the lack of adequate financial support, which does not favor the development of the energy sector with superior financial and economic effects. On the other hand, the use of geothermal energy through heat pumps began to take an increasing scale due to net advantages over other heating solutions. The activity of the Geothermal Technologies and Sources Lab will focus primarily on this type of use of geothermal energy.
