New polices for reducing energy consumption in residential sector has led to the concept of buildings with very low energy consumption such as passive buildings, Zero-Energy houses or even Plus-Energy houses. At the same time grows increasingly the concept of smart building or smart buildings with Internet of Things Technologies. The Green and Smart Buildings (GSB) laboratory aims to test and develop new energy efficient solutions, competitive products and intelligent home technologies through interdisciplinary research. Our goal is to develop and implement energy efficient solutions which will have a positive impact on user comfort. In other words, the research team will focus on developing and integration of Internet of Things devices; Off-Grid Power solutions; designing energy systems with demand management and energy storage solutions. The Green and Smart Buildings laboratory team has 7 faculty members and researchers (post-doc and PhD students). Each member was previously involved in national and European research projects.
