Robots – Autonomous and Adaptive Systems Lab

Robots – Autonomous and Adaptive Systems Lab is a research laboratory within the UPB research center CAMPUS. Robots Laboratory is involved in scientific research and development regarding collaborative and autonomous robotic systems in hazard areas, humanoid, android and bio-inspired robots, innovative sensors and actuators for machine-environment interaction, active perception of the environment, embedded systems for omnidirectional audio and video processing. Robots Laboratory staff, composed of 15 faculty members and researchers (post-doc and PhD students), was involved in several national research grants and strategic programmes funded under European Structural Funds. They are authors for more than 250 scientific publications in high ranked journals and top conferences from the field. The research infrastructure available in Robots Laboratory comprises development robotic kits (hexapods, humanoid robots, quadcopters, etc.), autonomous robotic systems (unmanned aerial systems, 4x4 wheel with arm mobile platforms, etc.), microcontroller kits, high-performance computing systems, video projection and multi-modal camera systems.
